New York investigators “Popeye” Doyle and Russo are obsessed with their job. By chance, the two are on the trail of a big deal. French businessman Charnier is planning to flood New York with heroin. Against their will, Doyle and Russo are given FBI agents to assist them, which doesn't stop Doyle from pursuing the matter in his own way. When the gangsters send a hitman after him, a dramatic chase ensues on the streets of New York.

In a dirty, forgotten border town between Mexico and North America, a car bomb explodes and kills two people. Mike Vargas, a Mexican prosecutor gets involved in the investigation, while the lead policeman Hank Quinlan is reluctant to cooperate. Demoralized and corrupted by the violent death of his wife, Quinlan undertakes investigations at his own discretion, often beyond the law, and is prepared to use violence if necessary. He has no qualms about joining forces with drug dealer Grandi against Vargas. A duel to the death develops between Vargas and Quinlan. With its story of murder, marijuana and police corruption, Touch of Evil is one the the last of the 1940s/50s cycle of crime thrillers known as film noir. Welles’ vivid turn as corpulent bent cop Quinlan provided one of the genre’s most memorable villains.

During a skiing holiday in the Swiss Alps, Reggie Lambert realizes that she wants to divorce her husband. Back in Paris, she learns that her husband has been murdered. Shortly before his death, he plundered their apartment and sold their joint possessions. Peter Joshua, whom she met in Switzerland, offers to help her. Shortly afterwards, a certain Bartholomew from the CIA contacts her and warns her about three men who have a score to settle with her ex-husband from wartime. But Peter Joshau also seems to be involved. More murders soon follow and Reggie finds herself trapped in a dangerous game. Who are the good guys, who are the bad guys and who can she trust?
